Service work is a great way to get involved and give back to AA for what has been so freely given to us.
If you would like to be of service you can sign up to lead a meeting as a chairperson or a cohost. Our meeting is formatted to have a single chairperson and several cohosts. The chairperson will open the Zoom meeting fifteen minutes before the hour, let fellows in, and select readers. The chairperson will also choose a number of cohosts to help keep the meeting running smoothly so we can focus on our goal of providing a safe place for recovery.
Zoom allows the chairperson or “host” (as Zoom refers to it) to assign cohosts. Cohost has access to settings to help keep the meeting safe and running smoothly. As a cohost, you can let people into the meeting, rename participants, and change security settings. Our cohosts will also help by sharing their screens to display our reading material for the assigned readers.
